Luca Moretto. L'architettura della formazione

Il titolo si offre ad almeno tre livelli di comprensione: il primo, il pretesto per la pubblicazione è l’architettura di un collegio universitario, la cui esperienza è per alcuni studenti intrinsecamente correlata col percorso formativo; il secondo, la maggioranza dei progetti dei quali si è occupato Luca Moretto, dagli esordi ad oggi, presentati nella seconda parte del volume, sono opere universitarie, di tutte le specie (aule, laboratori, segreterie studenti etc.); il terzo, quello più personale, più profondo, più vero, qui la formazione in campo è quella dello stesso progettista che, attraverso il lavoro - in studio ed in cantiere - si forma giorno per giorno in un processo in divenire, come un albero in crescita, senza soluzione di continuità, ovvero, secondo la metafora del costruire del muratore: mattone dopo mattone.

The writings, drawings and paintings used to communicate the plan and building site all describe Luca Moretto’s mood and the intentions of one wanting to emerge from the shell of the predominant orthodoxy, urgently seeking dialogue and confrontation with the heresies that imbue contemporary design thinking.
The professional practice demolishes many certainties and reinforces doubts about the weakness of a certain formal-scholastic way of working. Moretto starts trying out unusual geometries, with little relation to his training, where the concept of balance does not correspond with that of symmetry; he modifies the procedures and moves the moments of intuition toward colour.
It seems a game, and probably is. Luca Moretto begins to let his playfulness emerge and starts playing with colour
and with architecture.
